How the HYROX Burpee Broad Jump Station Works
Athletes perform a burpee, then immediately jump forward.
This pattern repeats across an 80-meter track, typically split into four 20-meter lanes.
Chest must touch the ground on each burpee
Feet must leave the ground together during the jump
Jumps must be forward and continuous — no extra steps between reps
The entire movement requires coordination: smooth burpees, consistent jump length, and efficient pacing.
What Makes HYROX Burpee Broad Jumps Challenging
This HYROX station demands a mix of mobility, explosiveness, and control.
As the race progresses, leg fatigue makes jumping harder, while poor pacing leads to sloppy movement and no-reps.
Quads and hamstrings are under constant load
Athletes often misjudge jump distance or form
Loss of rhythm leads to wasted effort and time
How to Train for HYROX Burpee Broad Jumps
Training under fatigue is key — most athletes can jump well fresh, but few can do it consistently deep into a race.
Jump mechanics: Practice broad jumps focusing on landing control
Conditioned reps: Perform burpee broad jumps in sets after running or rowing
Mobility work: Improve hip and ankle mobility to maintain clean jump form
